How redirect analytics work
Every redirect lookup processed by the Edge API generates an analytics event via Cloudflare Analytics Engine, capturing the response status, edge location, and timestamp. These events are synced periodically to your dashboard, providing near real-time visibility into redirect traffic.
The dashboard aggregates events across multiple dimensions: time (hourly, daily, weekly), geography (by edge location and country), top hit/miss paths, and status (2xx, 3xx, 4xx breakdowns). You can drill down from a high-level overview to top path performance with a few clicks.
Latency percentiles (p50, p95, p99) are computed using t-digest sketches for memory-efficient quantile estimation. This means you see accurate latency distributions even across billions of events without storing every individual measurement.
